Toyosu Crab Playground
Another Nameless park in Tokyo. I hereby deem you 'Toyosu Crab Park'.This park seriously has a lot of things going for it. The giant crab slide was definitely high on that list. However, it isn't alone. In a close second place is the model train followed by the weird wale.
Juno's Favorite - The Crab Slide The crab shell doubles as a slide, and it's steep with a sudden drop at the end. A little bit more exciting (or scary) for the little ones. But once they figured out how to jump off the slide at the end, I couldn't get them to stop.
I had to use the train jungle gym as bait to get the kids off the crab. Speaking of the train... a very awesome addition to the park. Although it completely breaks the ocean theme they were going for, the train is genuinely cool! Fully equipped with everything a train would need from steering wheel, windows tables and seats to a secret hole into the engine room with access to the very front of the train. The kids went totally crazy over this train.
Lastly, going to the opposite side of the playground, there is an awkwardly beached whale. While this keeps in line with their 'ocean' theme, there really isn't much going on with him. He is outside the fence perimeter of the park, and it really isn't a slide nor a jungle gym.
There are some sketchy/slippery stairs going up the back of the whale, but once on the top all there is to do is jump off. The whale's mouth opens up like a cave, and it is the perfect place for the older kids to gather and play there Nintendo DS...
Don't forget - Lala Port Another great thing about this park is it's really close to the mall in Toyosu - Lala port. And compared to Toyosu Playground which is directly connected to Lala Port, this playground was essentially empty.
Toyosu Crab Park was unexpectedly the most fun playground we went to that day and is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.
