Rinkai Park

Awesome rolling-pin slide at Rinkai park

Another relic park with a wooden jungle gym, tucked and hidden away on a hill behind a canopy of plants. Depending on the entrance, you walk into a small garden blocked off from the streets, up a hill to see on the opposite side a jungle gym built right into the side of the hill. As entrances go this park has it down!

Entrance to Rinkai Park

While you are surrounded by a canopy of trees and plants, the ground is very much just dirt, which leads to some pretty brown stained pants. Also, the wooden jungle gym is very similar to something out of a military obstacle course, with nearly vertical log walls, ropes, and ladders. I wouldn't go as far as to say it is an obstacle course, but it definitely has that theme.

The kids (3 and 2YO ish), tried the wall and obviously failed. Juno got up half way on the wall, before realizing what she had gotten her self into and freezing. So most of the park they didn't play on, but there was one thing that they loved more than everything else.

Juno's Favorite The rainbow rolling-pin slide was hands-down the best part of this playground and was easily Juno's favorite slide in the area. The slide is off of the jungle gym as all good slides are, but it is unique because it follows the hill down to the ground. Gosh, the kids went nuts over this slide.

Juno loved to ride on the side with Riley. Riley loved to ride the slide without Juno. There was obviously some problems, but we all had fun regardless! What made it even better, is that there were practically no kids at the playground while we were there. So the kids were like a broken record, riding the slide on repeat. It was a really good time.

What else does this park have? This park has swings, sandpit, and one lazy tiger spring rider. It's a decent size park, with a good amount of open space and benches.

The one complaint I would have, and it definitely isn't unique to this playground is the trash probably from the school kids and cigarette butts probably from the taxi drivers.

Overall

This playground is a great size, with a great slide, some good challenges for the kids (and me), and open space. While your clothes will get brown and dirty, general quiet atmosphere and few kids and an awesome slide made this playground one of our local favorites.
