Pirate Ship Playground
A little something for everyone, but a whole lot of fun for the older kids.
Hidden and Tucked into the furthest corner of Odaiba is Pirate Ship Park, which has a lot of open grass, view of the bay and, of course, a big wooden pirate ship. There definitely need to be more parks like this one.
This pirate ship is filled with fun. Juno loved climbing onto the ship via the net and heading up to the perch with the wobbly wood bridge. Riley was happy to get out of the sun in the bowels of the ship, which had plenty of stairs for her to climb.
The older kids were running, jumping and climbing all over this thing playing tag.
And for the parents, just to the side of the pirate ship, there is a group of rocks that make great seats, tables and napping beds.
The Pirate Ship
Juno’s Favorite
Juno’s favorite wasn’t actually the pirate ship – it was the fountain. I can’t remember if its normal to play in the fountains at parks back in the States but in Japan, it’s practically the only purpose for them. There are two fountains connected by a small man-made creek. The bigger fountain looks like it was made to play. With water jets shooting out every which way, all the older kids gravitated towards this one. The other fountain is quite smaller, but just as much fun for the smaller kids.
Surprising Awesome
How few people there are – In the middle of a hot summer weekend, the park was pretty much empty compared to others.
